Late Edition
The Captain's Report is being put to press a little late this week. The news director was out most of Saturday and spent the evening thinking about the upcoming celestial event.
The meteor "storm" was going to be visible early Sunday morning between 4 and 6 AM. So, after setting the alarm for 4AM, I went outside for a while... staring upwards. Even with
the street lights in the area, limiting my view of a dark sky, I was able to spot almost 40 "shooting stars" in about 15 minutes. Was well worth the time... but today I'm imagining what
the event would have looked like from the deck of the Seaview... hundreds of miles off shore... with the total darkness. Would have been great! Next meteor shower in about eighty years...
hope it will be WARMER the next time!
Bill Gates a Fan?
After all these years, it has been revealed that Bill Gates of Microsoft fame was, and is, a fan of Voyage. In an interview with the Captain's Report, he revealed his
favorite part of the Seaview was the "windows" ... thus the name of his operating system. Thanks Bill...
Weekly Poll
Last weeks poll involved your favorite non-human monster... this weeks poll then (of course) would be for your favorite "human" villain.
by private email. Results to be included
in next weeks Captain's Report.

Global Warming (part 10)
Morton and Kowalski watched as the light coming from the void brightened. It began to rise from the depths, so brightly, as if to give the appearance of a sunrise. The men watching from
the Seaview had to shield their eyes from it. As the light source rose clear of the crevice, Kowalski could see what appeared to be a cable descending from it. The light moved towards the Seaview,
closing in on the dangling cable that once held the diving bell with the Admiral aboard. As the light engulfed the broken cable there was a blinding flash. The call came from the missile room, "Mr. Morton, Sir...
There is tension on the diving bell cable. It's impossible, but I think we've got the bell, Sir" Morton called out his order, "Haul it in, NOW!" as he ran for the missile room....
CAPTAIN'S ADVISE
Dear Captain, I am a successful businessman with over twenty years service to my company. Yet every day when I enter the company lunch room and open my Voyage lunchbox, my fellow associates give me the weirdest looks. Why do you think this is happening? singed "Confused in Ohio"
Dear Confused, I think the looks you are getting are not "weird" as you think, but instead looks of "envy" from your fellow workers who can only dream of bringing their lunch to work in such style!
